Easter: fun facts and floral inspiration
Today, on the Abril blog, we want to share with you some facts about Easter, as well as inspiration for table settings and floral arrangements for this season!
THE SYMBOL OF THE RABBIT
The goddess representing the month of April was called Eastre; her earthly symbol was the Rabbit, representing Fertility (hence the eggs). This pagan symbol has been maintained in certain Northern European countries to represent Easter today.
It is believed that the Easter Bunny comes from a 13th-century German tradition, when Christianity had not yet reached the area. The rabbit was associated with fertility and new life, thus personifying rebirth after the end of winter and the beginning of spring.
These colorful eggs are part of Anglo-Saxon celebrations where they represented new life and the beginning of spring.
In the 19th century, the tradition of decorating them and making them out of chocolate emerged.
You can decorate them with watercolors or dried flowers.
