How to plant a sunflower at home:
1. BUY SUNFLOWER SEEDS
Keep in mind that only the smallest varieties are suitable for growing in pots.
2. PREPARE A POT
Get a pot large enough to plant your sunflowers. Remember to buy your pot with drainage holes at the bottom for good soil drainage.
3. PREPARE THE DRAINAGE MATERIAL
Place terracotta pieces, gravel, pebbles, or polyethylene foam at the bottom of the pot. Once you've done this, add equal parts compost and universal soil.
4. WATER THE CONTAINER
Before placing the seeds in the pot, water your container first so the soil is moist when you plant them. This ensures your seeds germinate faster.
5. INSERT THE SUNFLOWER SEEDS
Depending on the size of your pot, you can plant 2 to 10 seeds in total, with a distance of 10 centimeters between them.
6. WATER THE PLANT EVERY ONE OR TWO DAYS
