Floral design in London: where La Violetera's inspiration began

Discover how London floral design and English style influenced the creation of La Violetera. A story of inspiration, training, and floral art.

More than 15 years ago, London became one of the most important places in my training within the world of professional floral design.

It was there that I discovered a completely different style...
freer, more natural... profoundly inspiring.

During my stay, I had the opportunity to train with great floral design references, including Jamie Aston, who represents the iconic English style in floral arrangements.

What is the English style in floral design?

The so-called English flower style is one of the most recognized trends worldwide in floral design.

It is characterized by:

  • Organic and natural designs
  • Arrangements with movement and air
  • Use of seasonal flowers
  • Soft, dusty, and elegant color palettes
  • Compositions that look freshly cut from the garden

Unlike more structured styles, English floral design seeks to respect the natural shape of each flower, creating arrangements that feel alive.

How the "English" style influences La Violetera Floreria

Getting certified in floral design in London was not just technical training...
it was a transformation in the way I saw flowers.

With Jamie Aston I learned that design is not about control...
but about interpreting nature.

This approach completely changed my way of creating:

  • I left behind rigid structures
  • I began to design with greater sensitivity
  • I incorporated movement, lightness, and naturalness into every arrangement

How the English style influenced La Violetera

All that inspiration eventually became part of La Violetera's DNA.

The English style wasn't replicated as is...it was reinterpreted.

It merged with our Mexican essence, creating a unique style that now defines our floral arrangements:

  • Elegant yet natural designs
  • Compositions with artistic intent
  • Arrangements that convey emotion

Because floral design isn't just technique...
it's a form of expression.
