Facts about the flower: Delphinium

Hello! Welcome to La Violetera's floral blog. Today, we're sharing some curious facts about this beautiful flower that you'll love to know.

The word delphinium comes from the Greek 'delphis' which means dolphin. It is a flower that grows in a spike shape, and its spur resembles the shape of a dolphin, hence the nature of its name.

It is native to European forests, where it grows spontaneously in clearings between trees.

It blooms from summer to autumn. For a good bloom, an abundant amount of sunlight is necessary.

They come in blue, pink, salmon, lavender, yellow, and white, all with a darker center. Some produce attractive double flowers.

Every part of the plant is poisonous, so children and pets should be kept away from it.

Due to its height and morphology, this flower is an essential ornamental in the world of floral design, used to add color and depth to a landscape or floral arrangement.
