2. There are over 20,000 registered types of dahlias. This number is officially recognized in the national dahlia registry.

3. The dahlia feeds on the sun. It needs many hours of light to stay alive and even more to display its full splendor.

4. Between 1780 and 1789, the first dahlia seeds arrived in Europe. At that time, they were received by the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid.

5. The peak season for these flowers is summer. It can be said that it begins in spring and ends with autumn.

6. It is said that they were one of Empress Josephine of France's favorite flowers. It is known that she had a collection of different dahlia specimens in her Malmaison palace garden.
